Gone Fishing is a fast-paced, 2D fishing game that will test your skills as you race against the clock, collecting fish to feed your island.  Collected fish do not add to your time until they are banked back at the island, creating a risk-reward scenario where you push out further and further to find more fish, then rush home to turn them in before the time runs out!

In addition to fishing, the game also features four characters you can save in the world. Rescuing them will add a unique home on your island and give you an extra ability. With custom sound effects, art, a soundtrack, and persistent high score, Gone Fishing is an engaging and challenging game that you won't want to put down.

The game was created in the Unity game engine by Felix Wilton, Katarina Zosel, and Evan Richardson in just 30 hours for the 2023 UBC Design League Designathon and won first place, built around the prompt "Explore"! All the game assets except for the font were created by the team. So, hoist your sails and get ready to explore in this exciting game!
